國立清華大學外國語文學系 徵聘專任教師啟事

  • 徵求項目：專任助理教授

  • 工作性質：從事研究、指導論文、以英語授課（EMI）開設本系文學包括專業領域課程、及語言技能課程

  • 應徵資格：英美文學、比較文學或相關領域博士。
    　　　　　優先考慮：

    • 取得最高學歷十年以內；

    • 年齡四十五歲以下；

    • 曾服務於國際一流學術研究機構或國際知名公司任職五年以上，並具有發展潛力，或有執行重大研究計畫之經驗，或近五年之學術貢獻於所屬領域表現優異

Full-time Position

Department of Foreign Languages and Literature

National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literature (DFLL) at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) is inviting applications for the position of full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor.

National Tsing Hua University is one of Taiwan’s top research institutions located next to Taiwan’s center of high-tech industry, Hsinchu Science Park, about one hour outside Taipei. Major responsibilities for the position include offering EMI (English Medium Instruction) in literature courses, including in the applicant’s area(s) of specialization, teaching language skills courses, supervising graduate students, and pursuing an active research program. In addition to salary, the appointment also includes generous start-up funds, a housing allowance, health insurance, and an annual bonus.

We welcome applicants with a PhD in English, comparative literature, or a related field. Preference is given to the candidate who qualifies to apply for the Yushan Young Fellow Program and demonstrates a strong publication record. Terms and stipulations of the Yushan Young Fellow Program are listed on the Yushan Project website of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (https://yushan.project.edu.tw/TopTalent/Home/Intro). By the time of appointment as Yushan Young Fellow the preferred job applicant must meet the following qualifications:

  • Received Ph.D. within the last 10 years;
  • No more than 45 years of age;
  • Has not served as a full-time instructor at a university or research institution in Taiwan for more than 1 year, whether currently holding an academic appointment or retired from an academic position; applicant who currently serves as a full-time instructor at a university or research institution in Taiwan must not have served for more than a year;
  • Has worked at a leading international research institution or an internationally renowned company for at least 5 years and demonstrates great potential; OR is experienced in conducting major research project(s); OR has made exceptional contribution in their area of academic expertise in the past 5 years.

All interested applicants are required to submit in one PDF file (1) curriculum vitae; (2) copy of proof of previous academic employment (if applicable); (3) copy of Ph.D. diploma or official proof of Ph.D. conferred; (4) list of scholarly publications; (5) copies of representative scholarly publications within the past 5 years; (6) at least one sample 16-week course syllabus and a list of courses you can offer; (7) other relevant supporting materials such as evidence of effective teaching. In addition, three letters of recommendation addressing the applicant’s merit as a research scholar and emphasizing the applicant’s research achievements and/or potential are to be emailed from recommenders’ individual email addresses directly to the department at fl@my.nthu.edu.tw. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed and invited to give a talk.
